Aqara Video Doorbell G4 — HomeKit Secure Video, microSD
Wireless 1080p HomeKit Secure Video doorbell with on-device face recognition, microSD storage in the included chime, and no mandatory subscription.
4.1 / 5
★★★★★ ★★★★★ Highly recommended
Strengths
- HomeKit Secure Video support out of the box, including end-to-end encrypted recording when paired with an Apple HomeKit hub
- Local AI face recognition runs on the included chime hub - recognised faces stay on the device, no cloud round-trip
- Local recording to microSD inside the chime - no mandatory subscription to keep using the doorbell
Watch outs
- No native RTSP or ONVIF - there is no official path into Frigate, Blue Iris or other NVR pipelines (some community Home Assistant integrations exist but are unsupported)
- Aqara Home app, while improving, still feels less polished than Apple's Home or Eufy's apps
- The G4 does not support Matter - that ships on the newer G410. If Matter compatibility matters today, look at the G410
