How affiliate commissions work

Why it doesn't influence our reviews

The evaluation framework for every review is established before any specific vendor is assessed. Ranking is by criteria that matter to the reader (ease of setup, Matter / local control, privacy posture, long-term reliability, total cost of ownership), not by commission rate. We routinely recommend products with no affiliate programme — including open-source tools and free AI tiers — over higher-commissioning alternatives where the evidence supports it.
